Interior crossings

I see this trio as a whole, almost a narrative in three parts. I worked each piece as a variation on the same motif: the face, the root and what circulates between the two. On the left, a simple, almost childlike head emerges, extended by threads that radiate and sink. For me, they are hair, roots and thoughts all at once: that which spreads skyward and that which is anchored in the earth. In the center, I've tightened the shape. The face seems more withdrawn, almost absorbed by the textile material, while the ramifications encircle it. I see it as an inner moment, a zone of silence, where energy is concentrated. On the right, the figure lengthens and transforms further: the body becomes more vegetal, as if draped in roots. The threads stretch out widely, affirming a deeper, more assertive rootedness.
