Gaze caught in the canvas

Wire

I constructed this wire face as if emerging from a network, at once contained and traversed. The geometric weave frames the form, while the lines tighten toward the center, like a gaze drawn in, captured. The red-marked eyes appear as signs, points of attention, almost playful. Through this work, I play with the tension between structure and freedom, between that which encloses and that which still allows thought to pass through.
