Incarnate Jellyfish

In this sculpture, I fashioned a marine creature from wire, like a jellyfish stopped in its tracks. I let the red tentacles float freely, undulating in space, to retain that sensation of fragile, unstable grace. The metal allows me to capture the elegance of the gesture while introducing a tension, almost a danger. I like this ambivalence: a form that's both attractive and disquieting. For me, this jellyfish is a poetic presence, a dangerous beauty frozen in iron.
