Inner Roots

In this entirely wire-fashioned work, I wanted to reveal a tree rarely seen in this way: laid flat, offered to the gaze in its full structure, from its highest branches down to its deepest roots. I weave each metal line as one might draw a life — the threads branch, intertwine and stretch, becoming this vegetal silhouette, fragile and powerful at once. A few beads punctuate the branches like small seeds ready to open, promises of fruit or flower. Beneath the tree, its roots spread outward, as though the earth had vanished to reveal what ordinarily remains hidden. Between nature and body, between what rises and what anchors, I attempt here to show the deep continuity between the visible and the invisible — what nourishes, what sustains, what holds. It is a piece I wanted gentle, silent, almost meditative, like a tree that breathes.
