The Fractured Weave

Wire

In this work, I weave a grid of black threads — patient and meticulous — until a vibrant red square emerges at the centre, like a pulsing heart. Within this regularity, I allowed a real branch to pass through, slipping in to crack the weave like an untamed force — a reminder that nature always finds its way in, even within our most controlled constructions. This fragment of wood crosses my weaving like a vein of life, a fault line, a wild breath that breaks the order. As I worked, I felt as though I were witnessing a gentle struggle between thread and wood, between structure and the unexpected. This organic intrusion is precisely what gives the whole its meaning: it is in rupture that emotion is born.
