Vegetal Aviary

In this sculpture, I constructed a sort of open frame, with a network of intertwined branches running through it, like a drawing in space. I've worked the material to give it the look of old wood, with a patina that's almost alive, and I've placed small, discreet birds on it, as if they were stopping off. I like the idea of a threshold: you can look through it, move your gaze around, lose yourself in the ramifications.
