The Cleos characters

With these Cléos characters, I wanted to work on the faceless human presence, reduced to the essential. They are silent bodies, covered in letters, as if words had taken the place of skin. I use a collage of old papers, cut up, assembled, almost sewn together, to tell the story of what makes us who we are: fragments of language, memories, names sometimes forgotten. Each Cléo has its own size, its own posture, its own singularity, but all remain immobile, anchored, like witnesses. I like the idea that they carry within them a fragile, written memory, and that they simply stand there, between sculpture and human presence.
