Crossing the night
I created this work using a combination of oil paint and oil pencil. In the center, I set up a dark architectural form, almost like a closed door or window, like an inaccessible passage. Around it, I let a multitude of small pencil figures run, colored, repeated, in continuous movement. They encircle the structure, walking, dancing, following each other. For me, this work speaks of the collective in the face of an obstacle, of crossing in the dark: a multitude of lives marching around a threshold, between expectation and the desire to enter.
