Living sails
I superimposed a lace fabric over an oil painting to create a play of filters and passages. The lace softens, covers and reveals at the same time, transforming the painted figures into fragmented, almost vegetal silhouettes. The bodies appear through this delicate weave, as if caught in a garden or a veil of memory. For me, this work speaks of covering, protection and fusion: paint becomes skin, lace becomes landscape.
