The Garden Hill

Land Art

At the far end of my garden, I shaped this large earthen hill — nearly two metres tall — like a landscape I had sculpted with my own hands. I planted bushes in regular circles, drawing tiers that rise gently toward the summit. I also added steps, so that one can climb to the centre where a tree stands, silent guardian of this small mountain. From up there, the garden reveals itself differently — with a new height and a wider breath. This hill has become a living work, an intimate promontory where earth and gaze rise together.
