Guardian Figures in Burlap

I placed these burlap figures at the bottom of my garden, like a silent presence in the landscape. I fashioned them from simple materials, stitched and assembled, marked by time and the traces of matter. They stand upright on the grass, lined up but all different, like an immobile community. The burlap keeps the inscriptions, the seams, the scars: everything that tells a past story. By placing them here, among the trees and vegetation, I let them interact with nature. They watch, observe, inhabit the space without dominating it. For me, these figures are memory-bodies, on the border between sculpture and landscape, between human presence and plant form. They turn the garden into a place of contemplation, passage and shared silence.
