Jute canvas

In this burlap painting, I worked like a repaired sack, piece by piece. I sewed, painted and superimposed fragments tinted with ochre, yellow and earth, leaving visible the seams, repeats and scars of the material. In the center, a darker rectangular shape acts as a core, almost a chest, around which everything is organized. Signs, crosses and embroidered lines appear like discreet writing. I love this jute from the agricultural world: it already carries a history, and I transform it into a surface of memory, between repair, protection and silence.
