Sewn memory
In this burlap painting, I worked by assembling and layering, like building a memory. I sewed, glued and painted directly onto the jute, leaving visible the seams, marks and traces of the original sack. Small characters appear in the various spaces of the canvas, like fragments of scattered lives, while crosses, signs and colored areas give structure to the whole. I love this rough material that already carries a story: here, it becomes a territory, a human landscape made of memories, links and silences, where every detail finds its place in a collective composition.
