Sewn Memory

In this burlap painting, I worked with old sacks that I cut up, assembled and sewed together like a language. Letters, numbers and printed marks become plastic signs: I move them around, frame them, underline them with embroidery and sewn crosses. I love the tension between the original, utilitarian text and the slow gesture of sewing that transforms it. Here, jute is no longer just a material: it becomes a writing surface, a recomposed memory, a territory where the traces of work and time dialogue with my own rhythm.
