Labyrinth of Bonds
In this work, I mixed burlap with the arms of salvaged mannequins, integrating them directly into the surface as if the body were emerging. I put the bags together, sewed and patched them, left the original inscriptions visible, then let these frozen, anonymous limbs pass through the material. The arms protrude, cross, search, as if held in the canvas. I like the tension between the poor textile, charged with agricultural memory, and the smooth plastic of the mannequin. For me, it's an exploded body, a fragmented presence, where the canvas becomes skin and the gesture remains suspended, between appearance and disappearance.
