Jute canvas

In this burlap painting, I worked by assembly, like mending a memory. I cut, folded and sewed the jute to create these faces in relief, almost torn from the material. Each face is different, marked by the folds, tensions of the fabric and traces of time. I've deliberately left the seams, inscriptions and numbers of the original bag visible, because they're part of the story. The burlap, linked to my agricultural origins, becomes here a collective skin: a set of silent presences, between fragility, humanity and shared memory.
