Totem Vert, Watchman
In this totem, I let the form stretch high up, almost like a fragile column. The jute canvas is gently worked, with a patina of muted nuances and natural folds that I make no attempt to correct. At the top, two faces barely appear, as if slowly emerging from the material. Above, the wire unfurls freely, punctuated by small red touches, like a breath, a vibration. I like to think of this totem as a silent, observing presence between earth and air, an immobile landmark charged with memory and time.
