Totem in Grey Jute Canvas

Jute canvasSculptures

In this totem, I worked with burlap like a vertical skin, marked with folds, seams and painted marks. This material links me directly to the world of agriculture, to the potato sacks of my childhood, to what contains and protects. I let the form rise, simple and straight, almost human, with lines reminiscent of a spine. For me, this totem is a silent presence, anchored to the ground but turned upwards, a body of fabric that carries the memory of the land and work.
