Bamboos in chiaroscuro

In this work, I've arranged my Japanese paper bamboos rolled up over the entire surface, like a dense, vibrant plant material. The lighter forms emerge in the center, while the darker bamboos encircle them, creating a play of depth and contrast. I like the feeling of a tightly-packed field, almost buffeted by the wind, where each bamboo retains its singularity while participating in the same movement. For me, it's an inner landscape of repetition, variation and silence, where paper becomes rhythm and breath.
