The Cross of Apparitions
In this work, I've integrated my collages, paint and charcoal within a large cross that crosses the canvas like an opening. It's in this form that the faces emerge, caught between the fragments of paper and the charcoal strokes, as if trying to rise to the surface. All around, I painted the black, deep and dense, so that the cross becomes a space of light, a place where something is revealed. I like the contrast between the outer darkness and the inner vibration of the drawing, as if the cross carried within it a passageway, a zone of appearance. For me, this work is a dialogue between shadow and revelation, between matter and presence.
