Mask Box
I conceived this work as an assemblage of masks emerging from the material. On the box, I collaged papers, then drew a dense, repetitive pattern with a black pen. The masks gradually appear, caught up in the décor, as symbolic presences rather than portraits. The superimpositions, the contrast between line and color, and the graphic strength of black give the whole a ritual and narrative dimension. For me, this piece explores the idea of the mask as identity, trace and memory.
