Mask Box

I made this box from collages of paper and fabric. The materials are superimposed and intertwined, gradually revealing shapes that evoke faces, almost masks. They emerge from the textile decor, on the border between human figure and plant motif. The eyes, very present, catch the eye and reinforce this sensation of silent presence. The ensemble plays on ambiguity: between decoration and face, between ornament and apparition, as if the masks were concealed at the very heart of the material.
