Blue Water Thorn Bag
In this bag, I wanted to bring out an aquatic, almost animal energy. I worked the textile into tight, repeated points, like spines or corals, to create a dense, vibrant volume that captures the light in its hollows. The deep blue evokes the cold water of the mountains, the silent force of the lakes I know well, up there towards La Forclaz. The black handles contain this explosion, like a necessary anchor. For me, this bag is a living, protective form, born of water and matter, an object that asserts its presence as much as it keeps its secrets.
