Fleur ardente bag

In this bag, I worked the fabric in volume, pleating and stretching it until these pointed, almost floral shapes emerged. The deep pink, interspersed with darker shades, evokes for me a garden flower at full maturity, intense and vibrant. Each point is highlighted by small sewn pearls, like pollen grains or seeds ready to fall. The sheathed, gathered handle extends this organic movement. I thought of this bag as an expanding form, between strength and delicacy, a fragment of nature transformed into a wearable object.
